Jessica Alba (Trigger Warning) has joined the star studded cast of Maserati: The Brothers, a biopic about the three Maserati brothers and their founding of the iconic car company. She will star alongside Anthony Hopkins (Westworld), Michele Morrone (Subservience) and Andy Garcia (Ocean’s 11) according to Deadline.
The film will be directed by Bobby Moresco from a script by debut screenwriter Stefano Torrisi. This will not be Moresco’s first foray into a biopic of the people behind luxury cars as he wrote and directed the 2022 film Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend which starred Frank Grillo and Mira Sorvino.
Alba will play a woman named Sandra while Morrone will be Alfieri Maserati. Garcia will play Mr. Rossini and Hopkins will portray Italianbe Luca Antoneli, the financier who bankrolled the Maserati family. Casting of the other two Maserati brothers, Ettore and Ernesto, have yet to be announced.
“Jessica Alba is an artist of remarkable versatility and screen presence,” said producer Andrea Iervolino. “Her ability to bring authenticity to every role she plays adds a unique quality to Maserati: The Brothers. We are confident that her contribution will enrich this story of passion, challenges, and Italian innovation.”
Iervolino will produce through his company The Andrea Iervolino Company. Iervolino also produced Moresco’s Lamborghini as well as Michael Mann’s Ferrari.
