Tron: Ares has gained two new stunning actresses as The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that both Jodie Turner-Smith & Greta Lee have joined the upcoming Disney film.
Turner-Smith and Lee join Evan Peters as the recent additions to the cast alongside Jared Leto, who is set to star as one of the leads in the film.
Tron: Ares will “focus on the emergence of a sentient program that crosses over into the human world that is not ready for contact.”
Leto is set to play Ares, the manifestation of the program. Lee is playing a video game programmer and tech CEO in what is described as a leading role. There’s no word on who Turner-Smith is playing.
Lee is fresh off Past Lives, the 2023 A24 drama that’s taken the indie world by storm. She also appeared in Netflix’s Russian Doll and Apple TV’s The Morning Show. As for Jodie Turner-Smith, the British actress has been everywhere in recent years. She broke onto the scene with 2019’s Queen & Slim and appeared in this year’s Murder Mystery 2. She’ll next appear in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Acolyte.
Joachim Ronning (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) will helm the third Tron film, with Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne attached to pen the script.
