Deadline is reporting that Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are teaming up with comic book creator Rick Remender and Sony Pictures TV for an adaptation of Remender and artist Wes Craig’s Image Comics series Deadly Class.
Written by Remender and Miles Feldsott, with Adam Targum (Banshee) serving as showrunner, the TV series is described as “an unlikely coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of late 80’s counter culture which follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins. Maintaining his moral code while navigating a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal.”
The Russo brothers are currently prepping the two-part Avengers: Infinity War for Marvel, and were recently announced as producing a TV adaptation of Walter Hill’s cult 1979 movie The Warriors, along with a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair and a new Showtime comedy series.
