John Boyega has “a love/hate relationship” with the Porgs from Star Wars: The Last Jedi

November 24, 2017 by Gary Collinson

If there’s one aspect of Star Wars: The Last Jedi that has divided fans during the film’s marketing campaign, it’s the porgs, the little bird-like creatures from Ahch-To. And it seems that’s true of the cast too, with John Boyega revealing to Entertainment Weekly that he had “a love/hate relationship” with the cute little critters on set.

“I just remember doing some stuff and seeing a lot of porgs around,” said Boyega. “And they are interesting, but for me, I had a love/hate relationship with them. They’re very, very cute, but when you put them in a bunch, in holes, on the Millennium Falcon, that’s when they start to become really, really freaky. They’ve got real big eyes, all bunched together. There were, like, little tiny ones and little big ones that would just…yeah, it looks like a rash.”

Based on the latest TV spot, it seems that Chewbacca may share that love/hate relationship with the porgs too!
