December 8, 2019 by Gary Collinson

John Cena (Bumblebee), Meredith Hagner (Search Party) and Lil Rel Howery (Good Boys) have signed on to star in 20th Century Fox and Hulu’s new comedy film Vacation Friends, Deadline has revealed.

Based on a spec script from Tom and Tim Mullen which Fox first acquired in 2014, Vacation Friends follows “a straight-laced couple that has fun with a rowdy couple on vacation in Mexico. When they return to the States, they discover that the crazy couple they met in Mexico followed them back home.”

The film is being produced by Todd Garner of Broken Road Productions, which recently working with Cena on the comedy Playing with Fire. Clay Tarver, an executive producer on Silicon Valley, is set to make his feature directorial debut on the project.
