Back in November of last year it was announced that Netflix has ordered a live-action adaptation of the beloved 90s anime series Cowboy Bebop, and now the streaming service has announced its cast.
Star Trek and Searching star John Cho is set to lead the show in the role of Spike Spiegel, and will be joined by Mustafa Shakir (Luke Cage) as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Faye Valentine and Alex Hassell (The Boys) as Vicious. The role of Ed is yet to be cast.
Written by Chris Yost (Thor: Ragnarok), the ten episode series will tell “the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price.”
Cowboy Bebop is a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, and will see Yost executive-producing with Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of anime studio Sunrise Inc.
