Over the past month, the release date for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet has been shifted several times due to the uncertainty surrounding the reopening of theatres worldwide.
Now, in a recent interview with Mr Porter, star John David Washington has opened up about the delays to Tenet, calling them “disheartening”.
“I mean, I’m human. I put everything into this film,” Washington said. “You think it’s going to happen and they keep pushing it back. That can be disheartening. But it’s like your child. You want to send it to the best school, even if you have to wait a semester.”
Tenet was originally set to release on 17th July before being moved to 31st July. However, following another delay to 12th August, which was then closely followed by being pulled indefinitely from the calendar, Nolan’s latest project is now set to arrive in 70 markets on August 26th, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan and Russia, with the film then opening in select cities in the United States on September 3rd for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
