John Leguizamo’s directorial debut Critical Thinking gets a trailer and poster

Vertical Entertainment has released a trailer and poster for John Leguizamo’s feature directorial debut Critical Thinking.


The drama is based on the true story of five teenagers from an intercity school that fight their way into the National Chess Championship and features a cast that includes Leguizamo, Rachel Bay Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Angel Bismark Curiel, Will Hochman, Corwin C. Tuggles, Jeffry Batista, Ramses Jimenez, and Zora Casebere.

Based on a true story from 1998, five LatinX and Black teenagers from the toughest underserved ghetto in Miami fight their way into the National Chess Championship under the guidance of their unconventional but inspirational teacher.

Critical Thinking is set for release on September 4th.
