There’s still almost a year and a half to go until Frozen 2 makes its way into theaters, but actor Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) has revealed that production is about to ramp up on the sequel to the animated smash hit, with the voice cast set to record their lines for the film.
“I think I just got an email yesterday where I’m about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month?” Groff tells EW. “They’re about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I’m excited about. I don’t know anything about it yet other than I’m about to start recording my section of it. I’m just excited that I’m in it [laughs], you know? Excited to be in it and that creative team is also just so amazing, so I’m excited to get back in a room with [directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez] and play around.… The four of them are such an awesome team and I really, really love them.”
Frozen 2 is set to open on November 27th, 2019, but before then fans have the short film Olaf’s Frozen Adventure to look forward to, which opens with Pixar’s Coco on November 22nd of this year and is also slated to air on ABC.
