Jonathan Rhys Meyers has 97 Minutes to save a hijacked plane in trailer for new thriller

May 31, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

101 Films has released a poster and trailer for 97 Minutes, the upcoming thriller from director Timo Vuorensola.

The film sees an undercover Interpol agent (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) in a race against time to save the innocent passengers of a hijacked 767, when an NSA director (Alec Baldwin) orders the plane to be shot down in order to prevent catastrophic damage on the ground.

In a race against time, a hijacked 767 hurtles towards disaster, with its fuel reserves dwindling rapidly… Despite strong opposition from NSA Deputy Toyin (Jo Martin – Batman Begins, Chalet Girl), NSA Director Hawkins (Baldwin), takes a bold step by ordering the plane to be shot down, with the aim of preventing catastrophic damage on the ground…

The lives of the innocent passengers now rest solely in the hands of Alex (Meyers) an undercover Interpol agent, who has been embedded in the terrorist cell. The clock is ticking, with only 97 Minutes – can he save them?

The film stars Alec Baldwin, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, MyAnna Buring, and Jo Martin.

97 Minutes arrives on digital platforms on June 19th.
