A new Jordan Peele movie has a fair amount of hype, especially the string of modern horror hits like Get Out, Us, and Nope. But his next film has just lost its release date.
The untitled fourth film from Peele will no longer be released on Dec. 25, 2024, but the summer shoot has been pushed back with the Hollywood strikes. World of Reel broke the story, noting Universal has removed it from its 2024 release slate.
The outlet notes that 2025 looks more likely, with the filmmaker and his still-undisclosed actors’ scheduling aligning better for production. No new reports have come from the movie since it was announced in March.
As expected by now with Jordan Peele films, there’s significant secrecy around the story and cast, with no one confirmed for the project yet. Rumors have swirled that Steven Yeun and Daniel Kaluuya were cast, but another collaboration with the actor and director is not set. When production gets underway, we’ll soon know who will at least star in the film but don’t expect plot details until it drops in cinemas. Given that, there’s still a chance the film’s production can start anytime in 2024.
However, Peele is keeping busy working with legendary game creator Hideo Kojima for the upcoming video game OD.
