While Jordan Peele has no shortage of horror projects in the works, sadly, the filmmaker and producer will not be returning with more of The Twilight Zone.
The cancellation announcement came out Wednesday when the horror series was not listed among the CBS All Access programs that were transitioning over to the rebranded streaming service, Paramount+.
Julie McNamara, the executive VP and head of programming for Paramount+, had nothing but praise for the departing series.
“Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and the entire production team truly reimagined The Twilight Zone for the modern age,” says McNamara. “They upheld the classic series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling and pushed today’s viewers to explore all new dimensions of thought-provoking and topical themes that we hope will resonate with audiences for years to come.”
The Twilight Zone reboot ran for two seasons and saw Peele reimagine the iconic horror series. The CBS All Access series was inspired by the 1959 television series created by Rod Serling, which saw each episode tackling a different horror story. The second and final season was released in its entirety on June 25th, 2020.
