The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson has signed on for the lead in Future Man, an upcoming comedy pilot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Entertainment Weekly has revealed.
The pilot will see Hutcherson as a janitor called Josh, who is “asked with saving the world after visitors from the future declare him the world’s only hope when it comes to stopping a super-race invasion. During the day, Josh might be a bit of a loner with a lack of self-esteem and no game when it comes to the ladies, but at night, he excels at Cybergeddon, a video game set in a dystopian future. And it’s when his video game character, Future Man, beats the game’s final level that he’s visited by game characters who explain he’s been selected to travel back in time to help save the world.”
Rogen and Goldberg are set to direct the pilot, as well as executive producing alongside writers Kyle Hunter and Ariel Schaffir. In addition to starring, Hutcherson will also serve as producer.
