In the same month that she’s been cast as the Silver Surfer in The Fantastic Four, Julia Garner will topline a new horror epic.
It’s reported that Garner will star alongside Josh Brolin in the upcoming film Weapons. Zach Cregger is helming the film, following up his hidden gem horror film Barbarian.
Details on the film are few and far between. Cregger wrote the top-secret script, which is described as an “interrelated, multistory horror epic.”
Cregger is producing along with Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.
As for rising stars, Garner is having the moment. She was set to play Madonna in the artist’s self-directed biopic, and she most famously won three Supporting Actress Drama Emmys for her turn as Ruth Langmore in the Netflix series Ozark.
Along with being cast as the iconic Silver Surfer, she is currently in production on filmmaker Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man from Blumhouse alongside Christopher Abbott. The actress is also set to star in Paramount’s Apartment 7A.
Shooting on Weapons is set to start in mid-May in Atlanta.
