Having become the fastest movie ever to gross a billion at the worldwide box office on Monday, Universal’s Jurassic World has now climbed to eighth in the list of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
Jurassic World retained top spot at the US box office this weekend at the third time of asking, becoming only the fifth film to break the $500 million mark domestically, and has pulled in a whopping $1.238 billion and counting around the globe.
The Colin Trevorrow-directed sequel currently sits in eighth place in the all time chart between Frozen ($1.274 billion) and Iron Man 3 ($1.215 billion), and is sure to catch the year’s highest-earners Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.369 billion) and Fast & Furious 7 ($1.511 billion).
