Warner Bros. and DC Films announced they were restructuring the DCEU following the poor reception and domestic box office performance of Justice League, and fans at the Brazil Comic Con got their first look at the new slate. On the list are: Wonder Woman II, Aquaman, Flashpoint, Justice League Dark, Suicide Squad 2, Shazam, Batgirl, Green Lantern Corps and The Batman. What’s interesting there is not only the 2020 Cyborg movie off the list and Man of Steel 2, but so is Justice League 2. Interesting. Read more here.
Although he will be reprising his role as Rocky Balboa once again, Sylvester Stallone has announced via Entertainment Weekly that he’s stepping aside as director on Creed 2, being replaced by Steven Caple Jr. Read more here.
With the Disney purchase of 20th Century Fox and their movie licenses moving forward at a rapid pace, Ain’t It Cool News – so take this with a pinch of salt – are reporting that Marvel Studios want to bring Hugh Jackman into the MCU. Whether it’s true or not, Jackman has released a statement saying, “that ship has sailed”. Read more here.
In a new interview with Variety, Stranger Things‘ David Harbour has revealed that the new Hellboy adaptation will be akin to a scary and dark monster movie. “These movies have been of a certain brand. With Deadpool and Logan, they are trying to do different things. So we are trying to do our own brand of that. I was really excited by that concept — to make a real monster movie that’s dark and scary and about the end of the world.” Read more here.
