Back in April of last year it was announced that Zack Snyder’s frequent collaborator Larry Fong would not be behind the camera on Justice League due to a scheduling conflict with Kong: Skull Island, with Snyder then enlisting Game of Thrones cinematographer Fabian Wagner to shoot the DC team-up.
Posting on his Instagram page, Wagner has spoken briefly about the film, revealing that he took inspiration from Fong’s work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and judging by his comments, it seems we’ll be seeing a somewhat consistent look between the two movies.
“Last year I was fortunate enough to work with Zack Snyder on his new movie Justice League,” said Wagner. “I had always been a fan of his work and of his long time cinematographer Larry Fong. I tried to put my own stamp onto it but Larry’s dark and beautiful lighting was a huge source of inspiration. I had the best time working with all of those guys.”
So, that’s good news for anyone who was a fan of Batman v Superman’s visual style…
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 17th 2017.
