Justice League: Zack Snyder reveals his “challenging” but “efficient” editing process during lockdown

July 22, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Zack Snyder, the director of Justice League, has revealed how he is editing his Snyder Cut during lockdown.

Making a film is never easy so the current Hollywood lockdown certainly isn’t helping. Fortunately, filmmakers are finding ways to work from home and this includes Zack Snyder.

He is currently busy editing his own cut of Justice League and he has spoken to Beyond the Trailer about how he is doing it:

“It’s challenging but I’ll be honest about our working situation in that it’s pretty efficient. I have editorial upstairs and then downstairs we have like a screening room so we can watch the dailies and watch the visual effects as they come in. (My Editor) and I have this amazing sort of mirrored editing system so I can see exactly what she’s doing. It’s really an amazing technological setup. The problem is you can’t leave it, right? It’s literally in the house. It’s crack of drawn until the wee hours and we’re just (working on it). Unless the kids come and drag me out we’re pretty much (in there).”

Hopefully, all this results in a great finished product that will live up the expectations. Regardless, fans will be excited to finally see the version of Justice League that Snyder originally intended to release.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
