Justin Lin and Andrew Kevin Walker team up for Lone Wolf and Cub

October 18, 2017 by Gary Collinson

According to THR, Se7en and Sleepy Hollow screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker has signed on to pen the script for Lone Wolf and Cub, the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of Kazuo Koike and Goeski Kojima’s acclaimed manga series.

Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) has been attached to produce the movie through his Perfect Storm banner since 2012, and is also eyeing the director’s chair. Paramount has been developing the project even longer, with its involvement dating back to 2003, while Darren Aronofsky (mother!) was attached to direct at one point.

Lone Wolf and Cub follows Itto Ogami, a shogun’s executioner who sets off on a quest for revenge with his infant son Diagoro after the rest of his family is murdered. The manga spawned the Japanese Sword of Vengeance / Baby Cart series of six films, two of which were spliced together for the British and American markets with 1980’s Shogun Assassin.
