Karan Soni joins Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as Spider-Man India

March 1, 2023 by EJ Moreno

From Deadpool to Spider-Man, Karan Soni isn’t afraid to jump across the multiverse. The actor, best known for his supporting performance as Dopinder in the Deadpool films, will lend his voice to the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

One Take News confirmed that Soni will voice Pavitr Prabhakar, an alternate universe version of Spider-Man known as Spider-Man India. We recently got a brief look at the character on a teaser poster and the reveal of some new Funko Pop figures inspired by Across the Spider-Verse.

While Karan Soni is no stranger to the Marvel Universe, the actor has also done voice work before, appearing in Trolls World Tour and Strange World.

Soni joins a voice cast that includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter. B Parker, Oscar Issac as Spider-Man 2099, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, and Jason Schwartzman as The Spot.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain, more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

Across the Spider-Verse hails from directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, and Kemp Powers, with screenplay credits going to Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Dave Callaham.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set for release on June 2nd, 2023.
