British director Vaughn Stein (Terminal) is looking to recruit Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) for the independent thriller Inheritance, Variety has revealed.
The film, scripted by Matthew Kennedy, is set to explore “what happens when the patriarch of a wealthy and powerful family suddenly passes away, leaving his wife and daughter with a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy their lives.”
Inheritance reteams Stein with Highland Film Group, which produced his debut film Terminal starring Margot Robbie. It is being produced by Richard B. Lewis of Southpaw Entertainment, David Wulf of WulfPak Productions and Dean Reardon and Santosh Govindaraju of Covergent Media.
Kate Mara was last seen in Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck’s Pose, which aired on FX this past summer, and she recently signed on to produce and star in a TV remake of the 2013 Sundance film A Teacher. Pegg meanwhile can currently be seen alongside frequent collaborator Nick Frost in the horror-comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez, the first feature film offering from their recently formed Stolen Picture production company.
