After her Emmy-winning turn in Mildred Pierce, Kate Winslet is set for a return to the small screen, signing on to reunite with HBO for the limited series Mare of Easttown.
According to Deadline, the series will see Winslet portraying a small-town Pennsylvania detective who is investigating a local murder, while at the same time, her own life is crumbling around her.
The series has been created and written by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace, Run All Night), who will serve as showrunner, while Gavin O’Connor (Warrior, The Accountant) is on board to direct all of the episodes.
Oscar-winner Winslet has recently wrapped filming on Titanic director James Cameron’s Avatar sequels, while her upcoming features include Roger Michel’s Blackbird and Francis Lee’s Ammonite.
