Katey Sagal will cameo in Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC

August 10, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With the premiere of Mayans MC less than a month away, creator Kurt Sutter has revealed that we won’t have to wait long for our first Sons of Anarchy crossover, with Katey Sagal set to reprise her Golden Globe-winning role as Gemma Teller Morrow for a cameo appearance in the series premiere of the spinoff.

“It’s a flashback to eight years ago and a way of letting us know that he’s in Stockton where the two worlds will collide, at least in memory,” said Sutter (via EW), who went on to reveal that he intends on featuring more flashbacks, although: “I don’t want to mess with [the Sons of Anarchy] mythology. That mythology can live in imagination. But flashbacks wouldn’t be stepping on what is happening now.”

Sutter also went on to state that he is still keen on developing a prequel about Jax’s (Charlie Hunnam) father John Teller, adding that: ““I love the idea of doing the first 10 of a prequel. It would be a 10-off. I’ll try to find a way to introduce that during the course of the Mayans.”

Mayans MC is set to premiere on September 4th and features a cast that includes JD Pardo, Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta.
