Kathleen Kennedy is here to let Star Wars fans down easy: don’t expect any more Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi in the near future.
The current president of Lucasfilm recently appeared on the Dagobah Dispatch podcast, where she opened up about the possibility of seeing Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan again. Sadly, it seems like she plans on keeping the limited series as just that, a limited special one-time run.
Kennedy tells the podcast, “I always hesitate to say no to more Obi-Wan Kenobi. Maybe we end up doing something that gets incorporated into some of the other stories that we’re doing or eventually into a movie, but who knows? But right now, it’s still our standard stand-alone limited series; we have no plans for expansion right now.”
Next up for the Star Wars universe is the Ahsoka series, which is set to premiere this August. The series will follow Rosario Dawson as the titular Ahsoka Tano. While Hayden Christensen is set to appear as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, there’s no word on if McGregor will cameo in Star Wars: Ahsoka.
