A new playmate has been revealed for Radio Silence’s hotly-anticipated Ready or Not 2. Joining Samara Weaving in the sequel will be Kathryn Newton, who is re-teaming with the filmmakers after starring in their horror hit from last year, Abigail.
Released in 2019, Ready or Not followed Weaving’s as a young bride who just married into a rich and eccentric family. As part of their tradition on wedding nights, they held a game night where Grace randomly picked Hide & Seek, the one game in the family’s deal with the devil for their fortune where they have to hunt down the bride or groom. As Grace hides from her new family, she has to fight to escape before they kill her by sunrise.
Ready or Not was a huge hit making $58 million off its $6 million budget. The cast also featured Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Henry Czerny, Andie MacDowell and Melanie Scrofano as Grace’s new family members turned would-be murderers.
Ready or Not 2‘s plot is unknown so we don’t know how the game will restart with Grace or what role Newton will have. The sequel is being written by the original’s screenwriters Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy with Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directing once again.
A release date for Ready or Not 2 has not been announced as of yet.
