Katie Holmes is returning to the small screen for her first series regular role since Dawson’s Creek, with the actress signing on to star and executive produce an as-yet-untitled FBI drama pilot from former Empire showrunner Ilene Chaiken and Melissa Scrivner Love.
Deadline reports that the drama, formerly titled Mrs. Otis Regrets, centres on “FBI Special Agent Hazel Otis (Holmes), who’s in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when a personal indiscretion – an affair with a prominent general – shatters her life and threatens her career at the FBI. Now labeled ‘the mistress,’ Hazel Otis – wife, mother, patriot – begins to rebuild her personal life and professional reputation.”
Holmes was most recently seen in the miniseries The Kennedys: Decline and Fall and Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky; she will soon be seen in the comedy Dear Dictator and Ocean’s 11 spinoff Ocean’s 8.
