Matthew Broderick has been cast in Katrina: American Crime Story, joining Annette Bening in the second season of the anthology crime series from producers Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson.
Broderick, who was last seen in Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply, will portray FEMA Director Michael D. Brown, the man who was in charge of disaster response following Hurricane Katrina. Bening plays Lousiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.
Katrina is one of three American Crime Story seasons in development; one will explore the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace – with Edgar Ramirez (Joy) and Darren Criss (Glee) attached to star – and the other the Bill Clinton / Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.
