Following her Academy Award nominated performance for being the best thing in The Banshees of Inisherin, Kerry Condon will take her place in the pit-lane for Apple’s Untitled Formula One racing movie.
According to reports Condon is set to play the team’s technical director, overseeing the design and development of a sophisticated Formula One race car.
News emerged this week that star Brad Pitt would be taking part in the parade lap at the British Grand Prix in order for director Joseph Kosinski to capture the same kind of intense ride-along experience he achieved with the $1.5 billion grossing Top Gun: Maverick.
Produced by Apple Studios, the high-octane sports drama will see Pitt playing a driver who comes out of retirement to compete alongside a rookie driver against the titans of the sport. Farming‘s Damson Idris is co-starring, while Top Gun: Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger is penning the screenplay. Producers include Lewis Hamilton, Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.
The Untitled Formula One film will initially race from the starting grid and into cinemas, with an exclusive global run of at least 30 days, before heading to Apple TV+.
