As filming continues on Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, Deadlie is reporting that Kevin Bacon has signed on for an as-yet-unrevealed role alongside Eddie Murphy in the long-gestating fourth instalment of the action-comedy franchise.
Details on Bacon’s role are being kept under wraps, but he joins the returning Eddie Murphy as Detective Axel Foley, franchise veterans Judge Reinhold as Detective Billy Rosewood, John Ashton as Sgt. John Taggart and Bronson Pinchot as Serge., and fellow series newcomers Taylour Paige (Zola) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Pinocchio).
The long-awaited Beverly Hills Cop 4 is currently shooting under Australian filmmaker Mark Molloy, who directs from a script by Will Beall. Netflix is set to distribute the sequel, with a 2023 release likely.
Kevin Bacon is coming off the third season of the Showtime crime drama series City on a Hill, which aired its finale last week, and was last seen on the big screen in Blumhouse’s slasher horror They/Them [check out our review here].
