He’s been absent from three sequels (not to mention the upcoming fifth instalment), but it seems that we may one day see Kevin Bacon returning to the Tremors franchise, with the actor revealing to Metro that he’d be keen on reprising his role as Val McKee from the original 1990 cult horror comedy.
“Definitely Tremors, but part of what’s great about that movie is there are next to no digital effects,” said Bacon when asked by the paper which of his prior movies would benefit from today’s special effects technology. “The monsters are done with puppetry, and it’s still off, funny and scary – it’s a cool accomplishment. I’d love to do something else with Tremors and revisit the character 25 years later.”
The Bacon-less Tremors 5 is set for release in October, with Michael Gross reprising his role as Burt Gummer alongside new addition Jamie Kennedy (Scream). Check out the first promotional images here.
