THR is reporting that Kevin Hart is teaming with Paramount Pictures to develop a remake of the Bill Murray fantasy comedy Scrooged, with Hart producing and potentially starring.
Directed by Richard Donner, Scrooged was a modern retelling of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, and saw Murray portraying Frank Cross, a cynical and selfish TV executive who finds himself visited by a succession of ghosts on Christmas Eve, intent on helping him to regain his Christmas spirit.
Hart is producing the Scrooged remake through his Hartbeat Productions company, and the search is now underway for a writer to pen the script.
The actor can currently be heard in cinemas in the animated sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2, and reunites with Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Karen Gillan this December with the release of the as-yet-untitled sequel to the box office smash Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
