If you played Kingdom Hearts III, you knew it was far from the final installment in the series. Now, Square Enix has confirmed that to be the case and teased two new entries in the franchise, one being the fourth game in the mainline series.
As part of the series’ 20th-anniversary celebrations, Square Enix made the announcement that they’ll release the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link later this year, and right after that fans were stunned to see the first trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV.
There wasn’t much explained in the teaser, but what we’ve gathered is the new storyline is titled “Lost Master Arc.” It will be based in a world called Quadratum, where Donald and Goofy are searching for Sora. On the tech side, it was noted that the game will be moving to the Unreal Engine 5. Check out the trailer here….
Here’s what we know about the game from the official press release:
“In the announcement trailer, Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the “Lost Master Arc.” Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.”
