20th Century Fox has announced that it has pushed back the release of Matthew Vaughn’s as-yet-untitled Kingsman prequel from November of this year, with the film now set to take the Valentine’s Day 2020 spot vacated by Bond 25 last week.
As a result of the Kingsman delay, Fox has also decided that its previous November 15th date will now be filled by James Mangold’s Ford v. Ferrari starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon, which was originally slated to open on June 28th and now finds itself slap bang in the middle of awards season.
Meanwhile, the Shawn Levy-directed action comedy Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds has been given a July 3rd 2020 release date by the studio.
The Kingsman prequel is shooting now, with Harris Dickinson (Trust) and Ralph Fiennes (Spectre) leading a cast that also includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Matthew Goode (The Good Wife), Tom Hollander (Bohemian Rhapsody), Rhys Ifans (Alice Through The Looking Glass), Daniel Bruhl (Captain America: Civil War), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Djimon Hounsou (Captain Marvel) and Alison Steadman (Orphan Black).
