Director Rian Johnson has made another addition to his Knives Out sequel as Deadline reports Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks) is the latest to join the already large ensemble cast.
Like her co-stars, Cline’s role is being kept under wraps as is the story, but it will feature Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc returning to solve another mystery among an assortment of suspects. Cline will star alongside Craig, Dave Bautista (Army of the Dead), Edward Norton (Motherless Brooklyn), Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures), Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton) and Kate Hudson (Almost Famous).
Cline leads Netflix’s teen mystery drama Outer Banks where she stars as Sarah Cameron. The series revolves around her and her group of friends in the Outer Banks of North Carolina as they try to discover what happened to their friend’s missing father and a mysterious treasure his family is tied to while being chased by law enforcement and a group of the Outer Banks’ wealthy seasonal residents.
The casting reunites Cline with Netflix after appearing in two episodes of Stranger Things, the streamer having recently acquired the rights for two sequels to 2019’s Knives Out. Her other credits include Boy Erased and she will be seen next in the second season of Outer Banks, which will premiere on Netflix this summer, and Blumhouse’s This Is the Night.
Filming is set to begin this summer in Greece. The sequel will once again be written and directed by Johnson.
