A couple of days ago, Ghostbusters star Bill Murray gave his two cents on the news that the next Ghostbusters film could be an all-female reboot, as well as name the actresses who he would love to see involved.
Yahoo! Movies caught up with one of those that Murray named, Kristen Wiig, at the Toronto International Film Festival and she gave her thoughts on Murray’s endorsement.
“I will do whatever Bill Murray tells me to,” she joked.
Saturday Night Live alumn Bill Hader, who co-stars with Wiig in the upcoming The Skeleton Twins, said: “I don’t want to pressure you…. But you should do it… And you should have a friend, who’s, like, a guy who has to carry around your proton pack.”
Murray had also said that his three other “nominations” were Melissa McCarthy (Tammy), Linda Cardellini (Scooby-Doo) and Emma Stone (Easy A). No-one is as yet officially attached to the project actors, and this all may be another Ghostbusters non-starter, but if this is the way forward for the franchise, count us in.
Ghostbusters just celebrated its 30th anniversary, and a new 4K transfer of the film is now available on Blu-ray, as well as a special 4K boxset which includes the Blu-ray debut of Ghostbusters II.
