A long delay won’t keep The Lovebirds from seeing the light of day. Netflix recently acquired the film starring Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae from Paramount Pictures and plans to release director Michael Showalter film next month.
The romantic comedy initially set to hit theaters on April 3rd, is now coming to the streamer on May 22nd. The film follows a couple who are enjoying a quiet night out when they are suddenly dragged into a murder plot.
Due to the current global health crisis, the studio decided to move the title to Netflix in lieu of a theatrical bow. This is not the only Paramount film hit by this as Top Gun: Maverick moving to Dec. 23 and A Quiet Place Part II moving to Sept. 4.
