With filming on the Tom Hardy-headlined Al Capone biopic Fonzo set to get underway next month, THR is reporting that Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Matt Dillon (Wayward Pines), Linda Cardellini (Bloodline) and Kathrine Narducci (The Sopranos) have joined the cast of the gangster drama.
Fonzo is being directed by Josh Trank (Fantastic Four), and will focus primarily on Capone at the age of 47, as dementia rots his mind and his past becomes present with harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins in the city of Chicago.
Cardellini is set to portray Capone’s wife Mae, with Dillon as his closest friend Johnny, MacLachlan as his doctor Karlock, and Narducci as his sister Rosie.
Principal photography on Fonzo will commence in April in New Orleans, with Lawrence Bender, Aaron L. Gilbert, Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder producing.
