Kylie Bunbury (Pitch) has signed on for the title role in Get Christie Love, a new hourlong music-driven drama from Power creator Courtney Kemp, which is set up with a pilot production commitment at ABC.
Based on the cult 1974 blaxploitation-themed TV movie Get Christie Love!, the project centres on Christie Love, “an African American, female CIA agent who leads a highly trained elite ops unit. Beautiful and charismatic, Christie transforms into whoever she needs to be in order to get the job done especially when it’s down to the wire and the stakes are life and death.”
Get Christie Love is a co-production between Lionsgate Television and Universal Television, and according to Deadline, the pilot is now nearing the green light following the cast of Bunbury as its lead. The actress, who has also starred in Under the Dome and Tut, will next appear in the big screen comedy Game Night alongside Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, which is set for release in February.
