Last year it was announced that Jordan Peele is set to produce a new instalment in the Candyman series through his Monkeypaw Productions banner, and now we’ve got our first casting rumour for the project.
According to SuperBroMovies, Peele is looking to reunite with Get Out’s Lakeith Steinfeld (Sorry to Bother You), with the actor said to be in talks to portray the film’s protagonist Anthony. The character – essentially a new version of the original’s Helen (Virginia Madsen) is described as “a socially pronounced artist in Chicago who researches the urban legend of Candyman. After investigating the killer’s last known whereabouts, strange killings begin to occur around Anthony.”
