Latest casting news for True Detective season two

October 30, 2014 by Thomas Roach

The first season of True Detective was a huge hit for HBO and creator Nic Pizzolatto is now busy prepping a second season of the show. However, rather than following Matthew McConaughey’s Rust Cohle and Woody Harrelson’s Marty Hart in Louisiana, the series will instead follow three new detectives in Los Angeles, and now we have word of some new additions to the cast…

Deadline is reporting that Kelly Reilly (Black Box) is finalizing a deal for a regular role in the show. It is also being reported that Michael Irby (Almost Human), Abigail Spencer (Suits) and Levin Rambin (The Hunger Games) are also close to finalizing recurring roles or are already committed to the project. Abigail Spencer and Kelly Reilly were both reportedly up for the role that eventually went to Rachel McAdams (A Most Wanted Man).

Currently Colin Farrell (Total Recall), Vince Vaughn (Delivery Man) and Taylor Kitsch (Battleship) are attached to play the leads in season two alongside McAdams, and it is set to go into production shortly for a release some time next year.
