Leaked Spider-Man licensing agreement reveals that Peter Parker can’t be black or gay

When it was first announced that Marvel had reached a deal with Sony to reboot Spider-Man and introduce him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was a lot of speculation that we might see a different take on the wall-crawler – specifically, that we’d see a non-white version of the character, be it Miles Morales, or a reimagined Peter Parker.

Given the actors that have been testing for the role, we now know that isn’t going to happen, and thanks to a leaked licensing agreement between Marvel and Sony (courtesy of Gawker), we also know why: Peter Parker can’t be anything but caucasian and heterosexual:
