Variety is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio is set to produce a TV series adaptation of Island, the final book from Brave New World author Aldous Huxley.
Published in 1962, Island follows a cynical journalist who finds himself shipwrecked on a Utopian island in the Indian Ocean. Having originally been tasked with exploiting the island’s natural resources, the journalist instead “uncovers an independently developed society and embraces the people, their culture and traditions — including psychedelic adventures and alternative social structures”.
