The Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In took the film industry by storm after its release in 2008. America quickly remade the film a few years later with Let Me In and has since tried to launch a series based on the movie.
Now, Tomorrow Studios is finally bringing the project to life at Showtime, where the series has been given a 10-episode order.
Heading the series is iconic Mexican actor Demián Bichir, who is Academy Award-nominated for his role in 2011’s A Better Life and recently starred in the horror film The Nun. The cast also includes Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman, and Jacob Buster.
“The series version centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed forever ten years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.”
