Lily Collins joins Ted Bundy film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

November 5, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

Back in May it was announced that Zac Efron is set to play the notorious American serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, and now comes word from Variety that Lily Collins (To the Bone, Okja) has signed on to portray Bundy’s long time girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer.

Extremely Wicked is being directed by Joe Berlinger (Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) from Michael Werwie’s Nicholl Fellowship-winning script and will tell its story from the perspective of Kloepfer during the period that Bundy hid his murder spree from his live-in lover. Following his arrest, Bundy would confess to 30 murders across seven states and was executed for his crimes in 1989.

“Lily has very quickly distinguished herself as a major talent in a number of diverse roles in recent years,” said Berlinger. “I am really excited about taking Zac and this hugely talented actress to some dark but very human places they may not yet have explored.”

Collins earned rave reviews for her recent role in Netflix’s To the Bone, and was also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress (Comedy) for Rules Don’t Apply. She is also set to portray Edith Bratt, the wife of J.R.R. Tolkien, in the upcoming biopic Tolkien from director Dome Karukoski.
