James Mangold, director of recent Wolverine hit Logan, has expressed his excitement for The Batman and his friend Matt Reeves.
With Mangold’s R-rated Wolverine flick Logan now behind us – the last dance of star Hugh Jackman – our attention is starting to turn back to future projects, which of course includes the much troubled DC solo movie The Batman.
Director Matt Reeves recently rescued the project from Ben Affleck who is now taking a back seat on affairs, focusing purely on his performing duties as Bruce Wayne. Recently a rumoured start floating about a page one re-write for the flick amid reports that production will be pushed back to 2018.
One fan of the character seems to be looking in a different direction for his future Batman kicks however, and reached out to James Mangold to see if he might be interested in directing a Batman film down the road. Mangold responded by expressing his excitement for what Matt Reeves will do with the character.
My talented friend @mattreevesLA is starting work on a new Batman. I can't wait to see what he does!

Not an overly surprising response considering the two are friends, but should an opportunity arise in the future, you can bet Mangold’s name will be near the top of any superhero movie directors lists.
