Fulqrum Publishing and developer Misterial Games have released a new trailer for their upcoming Lovecraftian horror Stygian: Outer Gods. The game, due for release on Early Access on 14th April, will also be available from 4th-7th April for a free beta weekend on Steam.
This weekend’s beta will allow players to explore a large part of Kingsport and gain access to the mysterious Brasko family mansion, a huge expansion on the introductory section which was available during the recent Steam Next Fest.
Set in the universe of Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, Outer Gods takes players to a hostile world where they will face the machinations of the Outer Gods and unravel a thousand-year-old mystery, or lose their sanity in the process. Joining enigmatic occultist researcher, Victoria, on an expedition to the foggy settlement of Kingsport, players will witness the events preceding the Black Day.
Explore the Lovecraft-inspired decrepit and near-abandoned harbour town of Kingsport, seek out the dark secrets by solving puzzles and open up new areas by unlocking closed doors. There are plenty of areas for players to explore in the old village – a mysterious mansion, dark mines, cemeteries and a creepy old lighthouse.
Ever-present dangers, ranging from monstrous creatures to deviously laid traps, will threaten players as they roam this old village and all will take a toll on your psyche. Mental afflictions will have an impact on the gameplay, so players will need to keep on the lookout for recipes and materials allowing them to construct the tools and medicines to endure the horrors lurking in the shadows.
Listen to the advice of your companion’s knowledge of the occult and make all decisions carefully as every choice made has consequences, and enemies may react differently depending on these choices.
Look out for Stygian: Outer Gods arriving on Steam Early Access for PC on 14th April and take part in the open beta this weekend.
