Lucy Liu is getting festive for Prime Video’s Red One as Deadline reports that the actress is in talks to join the upcoming holiday film by Jumanji franchise director Jake Kasdan.
Liu will star in the holiday comedy alongside Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and Kiernan Shipka, while Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious) has penned the script.
Details on the film are still tightly under wraps, but it is expected to be a family blockbuster that Deadline describes as a “globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy.” The film is also a reunion for Kasdan and Johnson, as the duo previously worked together in the Jumanji films.
Lucy Liu is an absolute delight and a real grab for the film. Not only did she make her mark in the 90s and 00s with roles in Charlie’s Angels andKill Bill, but she’s oven herself as a solid filmmaker. She directed episodes of New Amsterdam, Elementary, Why Women Kill, Luke Cage, Graceland, Law & Order: SVU, and the 2012 indie feature Meena.
