The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that 12 Years a Slave and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Lupita Nyong’o is in talks to star in the sci-fi thriller Intelligent Life from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.
The film will follow “a U.N. worker in a department that was created to represent humankind in the event of alien contact [who] falls in love with a mysterious woman who turns out to be an alien.”
The project has been written by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, with Ava DuVernay (Selma) lined up to direct.
Next up from Nyong’o is Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book, where she voices the character of Raksha. The Jon Favreau-directed film is set for release on April 15th.
