MacGruber is coming back. In a first teaser from Peacock, the new MacGruber series sees the infamous spy hero MacGruber in prison, but promising the American people he’s coming back not in a “mean and threatening” way for a December 16th premiere. Watch the teaser below…
MacGruber is based on the Saturday Night Live sketches and film of the same name, which grossed $9.3 million worldwide against a $10 million budget. The official synopsis for the eight-episode series reads:
After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Forte) is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Zane). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Phillippe), in order to defeat the forces of evil.
