It’s a pretty good time for fans of MacGyver. Last week CBS announced a pilot order for a new TV series from James Wan (Fast & Furious 7) and original executive producer Henry Winkler, and now Variety is reporting that Lionsgate is in development on a big screen reboot of the 80s action-adventure series.
During a conference call with analysts, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer made the announcement about the movie, revealing that original series creator Lee David Zlotoff will be producing alongside Neal Moritz (Fast and Furious).
MacGyver starred Richard Dean Anderson in the title role of secret agent Angus MacGyver and ran for seven seasons between 1985 and 1992, with two TV movies following in 1994.
